Yorkdale Shopping Mall Food Collection

This $38 million dollar eatery sprawling over 45,000 sq. ft. consists of 19 restaurants, ranging from fast food to sit down eateries. The new Food Collection has over double the capacity of their old food court with seating for over 1,000. This project included a challenging helicopter lift which was required to place the large air-handling units onto the roof of the building. A Sikorsky SK-61 helicopter was brought in from the United States for this lift. The same helicopter conducted another lift by Bering Mechanical the previous day. Thousands of pounds of mechanical equipment including three air-cooled chillers, two dry coolers and two backup generators were lifted onto the 145 King Street West Tower in downtown Toronto.
